I am listening to

It was 1990. I'm pulling out of the dealership parking lot with my first ever brand new car when Feelin' Alright by Joe Cocker comes on the radio.

It was a silver Mercury Tracer. It'll always be my favorite because it was first.

And I'll never forget that moment.

Sure it was a landmark event, but it was the music that really made it.

You got one? A moment made perfectly memorable by music?

I am listening to: The Killers - Ready My Mind
I am reading: Not a goddamn thing
And I am: Uninspired but awesome

It is the summer of 1977 - lying on a blanket in my parent's backyard - basking in the sun while wearing my pink bikini with a "Love is...." saying of some sort embossed on the rear end - transistor radio blaring next to my head and Steve Miller's Jet Airliner playing for the first time.....EVERY time I have heard that song since that day - I get taken back to that place in time!!

I wish I could remember how old I was, but I know I was not yet a teen, but perhaps a "tween." My p's and all 5 of us children, were on one of our many roadtrips driving down to florida. The song? "Take On Me.." I don't even remember the title, and I'm horrible with remembering band names..the funny part about this song was that my 2brothers and my sister and I all thought the song said: "Don't clean away,..." We were convinced that due to the words of this song, we no longer were required to ever do any household chores again. To this day, like Msmoo1 said, I'm brought back to being in my parents conversion van with the moodlights, leatherseats, and the conversation and laughter I had with my brothers and sisters on a fun roadtrip without the tv's, Ipods, gamecubes, leapsters, whatever the hell all of that crap is called.
Always,
Crusty~

Hey Hedy,

You're a subject of discussion in the comments on my blog today. Shameless promotion, I know, but it's true.

I'll never forget the time that Angieeee Russell "The Love Muscle" did a strip tease for me to Joe Cocker's "You can leave your Hat on." It was amazing! Then I threw it at her like a champ! I still get wood to this day when I hear that song.

Driving to the lake a couple of summers ago, the sun was setting in a riot of blazing colors. Radiohead provided the soundtrack -- the entire Kid A album. Starting with "Everything in its Right Place" the entire world was in harmony, for almost an hour...
